Margaret Haggerty

Margaret Haggerty is a rising junior at Syracuse University from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. At SU she is double majoring in Sport Management and Writing, along with minoring in Public Communications. After graduation, Maggy hopes to work for an NHL team within their communications department. Maggy’s personal interests reside in sports as well; this includes playing tennis and watching sports on TV. She also enjoys drinking iced coffees from Dunkin’ Donuts and reading sappy romance novels.

Spring 2019 Project Description

Students at Syracuse University were challenged to develop creative marketing and PR messaging that FOX and MLB can utilize to enhance their existing partnership and raise awareness for joint sustainability efforts.

Ed Russell

Ed Russell

Ed Russell spent 25 years in the advertising business working for some of the largest and best known firms in the world. He has worked on most every product category in nearly every market around the globe.

He began his advertising career as a copywriter with one of the most awarded agencies in Chicago. Following graduate school, he went to work for Saatchi & Saatchi in New York City. In 1989, he moved to Frankfurt, Germany as European Account Director of Saatchi & Saatchi’s largest business; Ariel detergent (Tide in Europe). The Berlin Wall came down six months after he arrived, and suddenly he had the job of opening a dozen new offices all over Eastern Europe.

After his stint in Germany, Russell moved east to become CEO of Leo Burnett’s office in Warsaw, Poland. Though the country initially had no advertising business, the Warsaw office became Leo Burnett’s third most award-winning office in the world.

Russell later moved to Leo Burnett’s Chicago headquarters, where he led the agency’s Procter & Gamble international business, their second largest global business. Russell was responsible for 410 brands in 98 countries and managed nearly $1 billion in billings. The agency won more new business from P&G during this time than in their entire history.

Russell wrote Leo Burnett’s international training program, “LeoSmarts.”
He is the author of “The Fundamentals of Marketing” from AVA Academic Publishing and various other writings.

He splits his time between Syracuse, NY and the Adirondack Mountains. He is married with two daughters; one a social worker and one a media planner at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Boulder, CO.

Olivia Stomski

Olivia Stomski

In addition to being part of the Newhouse School faculty, Olivia Stomski is an executive producer at ProAngle Media in Los Angeles. She oversees, manages, produces and directs over 100 live events a year across the country, leads the production team and works with executives and personnel from several networks and professional collegiate teams.

She also held various editing and producing positions at Fox Sports Net. An alumna of the Newhouse School, she is an Emmy and Telly Award winner.
