Fall 2018 Project Description

Communications students were challenged by FOX Sports to develop promotional activations in order to increase fan awareness, engagement, and viewership of the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) on FOX and FS1.

Dr. James Pokrywczynski

Dr. James Pokrywczynski is an Associate Professor in the Diederich College of Communication at Marquette University. He teaches courses in advertising, planning and research.  He has published research articles in the Journal of Advertising Research, Journalism and Mass Communication Quarterly and Newspaper Research Journal as well as trade publications such as Sports Business Journal on sports and event marketing, couponing, job satisfaction among advertising practitioners, and product placement in movies/television. He has spoken to over a dozen marketing trade organizations on sports sponsorship and product placement.

He completed his Ph. D. from the Grady College of Communication at the University of Georgia in 1986. He is married, no children, but has dogs around the house that are treated like kids.  He referees high school basketball in SE Wisconsin.
