Alex Ozenberger

Alex Ozenberger

Originally from Philadelphia, Alex Ozenberger is entering his final semester in the Georgetown University Sports Industry Management graduate program. He has spent the past year working with TEAM Coalition, a non-profit that promotes responsible alcohol consumption at professional and college sporting events across the country, and he plans to continue to work in sports-related corporate social responsibility after graduation. Before his move to the sports industry, Alex earned a degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University and worked as a production assistant with the PBS NewsHour for three years. Outside of the office and classroom, Alex enjoys running, cooking, and the occasional pickup soccer game.

“I had never given an actual marketing pitch before, so having the chance to develop our plan and present it to Fox Sports representatives was incredibly valuable.”

“I’ve gotten to know the Big East very well throughout undergrad and graduate school. I was even fortunate enough to attend a game at Madison Square Garden as a student. To be able to come up with a plan to help that conference and tournament grow was really cool.”

“I’m always excited for the chance to get creative with a project, so I liked the freedom Fox Sports University gave us in developing the campaign.”

“I would absolutely recommend a Fox Sports University course to anyone seeking the opportunity to apply skills learned in the classroom to real-world situations.”

Brian Gill

Brian graduated from Rider University and is currently in his final year of the Georgetown University SIM Masters Program. This is his fifth year at Georgetown as an assistant coach with the Men’s Soccer Program. His career and personal interest is to someday become a head coach. Brian enjoys the opportunity to work in a great program with good people and talented players.

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to work with the professors of the class in conjunction with the Fox Sports team to brainstorm ideas about looking to improve the BIG EAST.”

“The atmosphere in the classroom was very professional and simulated what it feels like to work with a team with real life situations.”

“It was good to get a more full understanding of the inner workings and how pieces fit together within a complex structure like this.”

Summer 2014 Project Description

In the summer of 2014, Georgetown students participated in a challenge to create a multi-platform campaign that showcased FOX Sports 1 as the media and broadcast hub for the 2015 Big East Basketball Tournament. With the acquisition of Big East properties under the FS1 umbrella, this nationally oriented campaign served to highlight the new network’s coverage of the league, specifically the tournament in March.
