Spring 2018 Winners

Richard Schoen

Richard Schoen

Richard Schoen is currently a senior at DePaul University majoring in Media and Communications and minoring in sales leadership. He will be graduating in November 2018 in which he hopes to pursue a career in sales with a sports media company or a food company. He just finished an internship with NBC Sports Chicago in sales, and he has just started an internship with Mars Wrigley this summer in sales as well. He has a passion for sports and his favorite team is the Chicago Cubs.

The passion displayed by my teacher, Don Ingles, Fox Sports University, and my four teammates was unbelievable. I have never been so proud to be a part of a class and represent Professor Ingles and DePaul University.

The time and commitment my teammates showed during this quarter long project was indescribable. I have never gotten along with any group members better than I did for this project with Fox Sports University.

The reason why we won this contest was the chemistry between me and my teammates. There is no other explanation besides our chemistry and our determination to finish in first.

This Fox Sports University class was no doubt my favorite teacher and class throughout my 18 years of education and being a student.

Elizabeth Parrilli

Elizabeth Parrilli

Elizabeth Parrilli, also known as Lizzie, is from St. Charles, Illinois and is currently a rising senior at DePaul University. She will graduate with a Bachelors in Public Relations and Advertising. Elizabeth was born and raised in a competitive and sports-oriented atmosphere. She played soccer growing up and continued on to play for her University as well. As her graduation and soccer career come to an end, she hopes to keep this competitive nature with her as she seeks a job in the sports industry. Outside of school and soccer, Elizabeth enjoys traveling and watching football and basketball with her family and friends.

Fox Sports University pushed my team and I to create an amazing campaign. There’s nothing I’ve been more proud of throughout my college career than this.

Taking this class gave me the real life experience that every college student is looking for

Not only did Fox Sports University continue to push our team to create the best campaign we could, but our Professor did too. The combination of both gave me an experience that makes it hard to put into words of how appreciative I am.

Her career interests include being a sports broadcaster and/or an attorney practicing sports or criminal law. Outside of this, Ally enjoys watching her favorite teams including the Cubs, Bulls, and Packers, trying new restaurants in Chicago, exploring new parts of the city, and spending time with her incredible friends and family.

I absolutely loved working with Fox Sports University. They were so helpful along the way, giving incredible feedback and helping us grow as a team and as professionals.

My last day of my undergraduate career ended with winning this Fox Sports campaign. I could not have dreamed up a better way to bring this journey to a close.

The biggest thank you in the world to DePaul and Fox Sports University for the most incredible opportunities, lessons, and learning experiences. I am forever grateful and I will talk about this experience for the rest of my life.

Right now, she is a social media intern for Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. After graduation, she hopes to pursue a public relations career in sports. However, Jena is open to any opportunities that utilize her talents to the fullest. Outside of school and work, she is passionate about her sorority, as she is currently president. Jena also loves traveling, spending time with family and friends, and walking her dog.

Being given the chance to work so closely with FOX Sports was an opportunity of a life time. This class has shaped my undergraduate career and prepared me for the real world.

After working on a campaign for First Things First, I have a new appreciation for all of the hard work that goes into the programming of shows. This project allowed me to step outside of my comfort zone and immerse myself into the field of television broadcasting.

I can’t express my gratitude for DePaul and FOX Sports University enough for this opportunity. I am overwhelmed with joy and excitement knowing all of my team’s hard work is paying off!

Kelsey Horvath

Kelsey Horvath

Kelsey Horvath was born and raised in San Diego California, making the move out to Chicago to attend DePaul University 4 years ago. While in Chicago, Kelsey pursued a degree in Marketing while also being a student athlete at DePaul University. Her previous work experiences include a Corporate Partnership intern position with the San Diego Padres, Fan Services for the Chicago Bears, and more recently, an assistant coordinator for Shannon Gail Weddings. Kelsey looks forward to starting her career in sports working with U.S. Soccer as an Event Operations Associate.

Over the course of 10 weeks, my team and I had the opportunity to dive into a project that gave us real world experience. An experience that will be carried with me throughout my professional career!

It was a great feeling to be working on a project where the work you were doing mattered, and could actually be used by an influential company, like FOX.

The passion and excitement displayed from Fox Sports and our Professor, Don Ingle, really drove our team to strive to deliver our best campaign.
