Jaime Eisner

Jaime Eisner is a senior at ASU majoring in Journalism. A lifelong sports fan, he covers the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League for SB Nation. Born in New York, Jaime grew up going to games at the historic Yankee Stadium where he fell in love with baseball. Jaime has attended and covered sporting events in over a dozen venues around the U.S and hopes to make a career out of covering professional sports.

Austin Controulis

Austin Controulis

Austin Controulis is originally from San Francisco, California and will graduate in May from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University with a degree in Journalism. After graduation, Austin will work with the Arizona Diamondbacks as their communication intern for the 2014 season. Austin hopes to find a permanent job in the sports industry so he can wake up every morning knowing that he is doing something that he loves.

Kelsey Roderique

Kelsey Roderique

Kelsey Roderique is a senior at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication and Barrett, the Honors College.  Kelsey will graduate in May 2014 with a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in Sociology. Kelsey’s interests include promotion, branding, market research and communications. She is looking forward to attending business graduate school in the fall, and would like to be a management consultant in strategic development and best practices. Kelsey currently works as the Marketing Assistant at the Desert Botanical Garden.  Kelsey led the ASU Western Equestrian Team to win back-to-back regional titles in 2013 and 2014. As an individual equestrian rider, she captured the Regional Championship for two years, and competed in the 2014 Semi-National Championships in North Carolina.

Christie Poole

Christie Poole

Christie Poole is a senior studying public relations at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She is interested in consumer-facing public relations and hopes to start her career at an agency upon graduation in May 2014. Christie enjoys running, traveling and cheering on her favorite sports teams, the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Lakers.

Fall 2013 Project Description

FOX Sports Arizona once again paired up with students in the Walter Cronkite School Journalism and Mass Communication for the 5th year of FOX Sports U at ASU. Students were challenged to create strategic and comprehensive marketing campaigns for an “Arizona Super Fan” contest. Students researched current Arizona sports fans, devised a marketing strategy, and then presented plans for finding the biggest sports fan in the state.

Eric Fischer

Eric Fischer

A 20+ year marketing, media, sales and sponsorship veteran who has worked to create innovative, integrated marketing, media and content platforms to drive revenues for global media organizations.  With a career spanning the agency, client, league and vendor perspective, Eric has worked at a senior management level within several of the most well-respected global media organizations including Clear Channel, Disney, Fox, McCann-Erickson Worldwide, MGM, the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.  In these roles, he has been fortunate work with several of the world’s leading marketers such as Anheuser-Busch,  Coca-Cola, Dell, Electronic Arts, Fedex, Gatorade, Microsoft, Nestle USA, Sprite, Taco Bell, T-Mobile and Yahoo!, to develop, build and execute media-based marketing solutions that drive business results.


As Vice President, Global Media Solutions for the NBA, Eric was responsible for leading the league’s digital sponsorship and media innovation across its 75+ marketing partners across the NBA, WNBA, NBA Development League, USA Basketball as well as the Basketball Hall of Fame.


As Regional Vice President of Clear Channel Advantage, Eric led west coast efforts to create cross-platform marketing initiatives including developing customized media solutions involving 1,200+ local radio stations and the digital platforms for nationally syndicated personalities such as Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura Schlessinger and Jim Rome.


Most recently and before joining LifeLock, Eric was SVP, Content and Sponsorship at Digital Artists, working with the largest global brands to develop innovative social media programs taking advantage of world’s most famous athletes and team’s social media graph.  In addition Eric continues to consult start up and early stage companies within the sports and digital media innovation space.
