Will Schoeffler

Will Schoeffler

Will Schoeffler is a senior advertising major from Cary, N.C. with a passion for digital marketing. At his summer internship, Will helped Lenovo launch their corporate Snapchat account and assisted with a social media campaign that received more than 10 million engagements. Will now works two internships: one with the UNC Admissions Department on their social media team, and another as a copywriter and account manager for a digital agency in New York. When he’s not tied down to his computer, Will spends his time performing with the Marching Tar Heels and travels the country supporting Carolina Athletics by playing drum set. He hopes to continue to channel his online enthusiasm through a career in digital media after graduation.

“An advertising student couldn’t ask for a better opportunity than to work on a project for the Super Bowl. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Fox Sports University!”

“In most of my classes, we spend a ton of time working on a project that isn’t shared outside of the classroom at all. Seeing our work in real life at media week for the Super Bowl was a truly surreal experience.”

“The connections I made with Fox employees throughout the project made me feel like a true professional. Even as a student, I catch up with people I knew at Media Week just like all the other industry employees could.”

Sarah Whitmore

Sarah Whitmore

A graduating senior from Charlotte, NC, Sarah Whitmore is a Strategic Communication major in the UNC School of Media and Journalism. While a student, Sarah has interned for a technology news publication, rAVe, in Las Vegas and Nashville advertising agency, redpepper, in her summers. Outside of class, Sarah works for Reese News Lab, an experimental media and research project based out of the MJ-School, where she assists the program in developing and testing start-up concepts for the media industry. Similarly, as Marketing Director for a start-up online food publication, Spoon University, Sarah leads team initiatives in Public Relations, Event Marketing and Social Media. Post-grad, Sarah is pursuing a career in advertising and marketing in a creative field.

“I didn’t know what to expect when we found out we would be working with Fox Sports U. I was blown away by the opportunities and access we were given contribute to and learn from members of the Fox Sports team.”

“From the introduction of our Super Bowl themed project to its culmination at Media Week in Houston, the entire experience felt like the “real deal.”

“Working with Fox Sports U and PROcast gave my team a national platform for our ideas, something I never thought possible as a college student. More than a killer line-item to my resume, this project has given me real-world media production.”

Casey Long

Casey Long

Casey Long graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in December of 2016. While at UNC Casey majored in Public Relations and minored in media entrepreneurship.  After graduation Casey is moving to Cincinnati, Ohio to work for Procter & Gamble as an Assistant Brand Manager. In her free time Casey enjoys exercising and reading.

“Having the opportunity to see many of the ideas my team worked on come to life was such a gratifying feeling.”

“Fox Sports U took our time and efforts seriously – it wasn’t like any other project I have done in college. They respected our creative intuition and ideas but worked along side of us to make sure we developed the best possible deliverable.”

“Working with Fox Sports U was one of the most valuable experiences of my college experience. Not only did I develop professionally throughout the process but I had a great time!”

Caroline Taylor

Caroline Taylor

Caroline is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and will graduate in May 2017 from the School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Strategic Communications major with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Her past internships in sports marketing, Tar Heel basketball and the experience with FOX Sports University has solidified her passion for sports (not to mention also being squished between two die hard sports fan brothers). Following graduation, Caroline would like to move to New York or Chicago to work in sports and entertainment, ideally doing sponsorship.

“This project was like no other I have done in college. I have never been able to spearhead a marketing strategy from start to finish with complete autonomy over the process and development of the entire campaign. I mean how often do you get to say that FOX Sports U entrusted you to create our very best for the one of the biggest stages in all of sports?”

“With graduation looming, the project FOX Sports U allowed us to build confidence in our abilities as marketing practitioners as we begin our professional careers. The real world feels a little less daunting knowing that I can take an idea from its beginning stages all the way to the eyes of the consumer.”

“FOX Sports U gave us the opportunity to work with some of the biggest innovators in the sports industry, and the connections and relationships we built are invaluable.”
