Jake Feinsilber

Jake Feinsilber is from Ardsley, New York. He went to Ardsley High School, where he was the starting goalie all four years for his school’s soccer team, as well as for his club team the Greenburgh Hornets. After his first semester at Tulane University, Jake realized his passion for business and transferred into the AB Freeman School of Business. He spent four wonderful years at Tulane before graduating in May 2015 with a double major in Marketing and Legal Studies. His passion for Baseball has driven him and his dad to successfully visit all thirty Major League Baseball stadiums over the course of seven summers. Jake is continuing his relationship with Fox by currently working as a Sales Assistant for the Ad Sales department of the FOX Broadcast Company in New York City.

Michelle Rosamond

Michelle Rosamond

Michelle is a senior at Tulane University and will graduate magna cum laude in May 2015. She is pursuing a double major in Marketing and Spanish. Michelle is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating from Tulane, Michelle hopes to work in marketing or event planning in New Orleans. She has had the opportunity to put her talents to use by interning with the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the World Trade Center of New Orleans, and The Spears Group. While interning at The Spears Group, a marketing firm located in New Orleans, Michelle helped organize Dîner en Blanc and ran social media campaigns to increase attendance at the event. Her hobbies include running, reading, and traveling.

Ivan Jimenez

Ivan Jimenez

Ivan Jimenez is from Manizales, Colombia. He is currently in a special dual degree program that allows him to get two full time undergrad diplomas from two different schools. In the course of 5 years total he is able to obtain his bachelor at Universidad de los Andes in Business administration and his bachelor of science in management with two business majors at Tulane University (Marketing and Management).  Ivan is currently working as a Corporate Marketing inter for Pan American Life Insurance. He loves sports, especially soccer and supercross, and will hope to have a career in management of sports organizations.

Keyana F. Varnado

Keyana F. Varnado

Keyana graduated from Tulane University with Bachelor of Science degrees in marketing and cell and molecular biology in May of 2015.  Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Keyana spent her life surrounded by LSU and Saints football aficionados. Even so, she took a keen interest in basketball, particularly the business behind the sport. While at Tulane, she volunteered and interned with the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, ProCamps Worldwide Inc., The New Orleans Pelicans and Elevate New Orleans. She also served as the president of the Tulane Sports Business Association (TSBA), where she managed a network of Tulane undergraduates pursuing sports industry careers.

Beyond pursuing her interest in sports, Keyana also gained experience in the fields of health and medicine. Though still passionate about sports, she will matriculate at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in fall of 2015.  She hopes to merge her experiences in and knowledge of business and medicine to affect change in the healthcare industry, the lives of her future patients, and her community as a whole.

Our experience came full circle as we used our previously garnered knowledge to develop and deliver a better product to the Fox Sports U and New Orleans Pelicans organizations. Brogan Brasseaux

Brogan Brasseaux

Brogan Brasseaux, a native of Louisiana, graduated from Tulane University in May 2015 with a double major in Marketing and Management. Brogan moved around multiple times growing up, living in places such as Baton Rouge, Jacksonville, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Monroe, and Gulf Shores. All throughout these moves, Brogan kept a steady interest in sports, especially Football and Soccer. At Tulane, Brogan was promoted to be Building Manager at the Reily Student Recreation Center. He also held the position as Inter-Fraternity Council President, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. In summer of 2014, Brogan was selected to be one of Tulane’s New Student Orientation Leaders. This past spring semester, Brogan diligently worked with the Account Services department at Zehnder Communications. He also was chosen to help with the New Orleans Saints Corporate Partners’ marketing endeavors in 2013.

Brogan is moving to Austin, Texas mid-August 2015 to begin his career in Marketing.

“As a huge Saints and football fan, I was thrilled to get an opportunity to think about putting marketing and sports together as an assignment.”

Spring 2015 Project Description

FOX Sports University students at Tulane University teamed up with the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans to create an integrated and comprehensive marketing campaign. Students were challenged with developing campaigns that would increase excitement and awareness around the Pelicans in the New Orleans community, and increase tune-in on FOX Sports New Orleans.

 

Professor Profile

John Howard

John Howard

John Howard has been working in the marketing field for 45 years. He earned an AB in English Literature at Boston College, an MBA in marketing at Columbia University, and a PhD in marketing at Pennsylvania State University. At J. Walter Thompson, he managed the Gillette and Scott Paper accounts, and at Vick Chemical he managed the Clearasil brand. He teaches marketing at Tulane University, where he served as Associate Dean for Graduate programs for Four years. He has also taught at the State University of New York, Pennsylvania State University and Alfred University where he was twice recognized for his teaching excellence. He has published articles in the marketing, finance and game theory fields and is currently interested in consumers’ use of shopping to cope with stress. He has worked as a marketing consultant for numerous corporate and government organizations, and served as a combat Navy officer in Vietnam. His hobbies include sailing, construction and physical fitness. He has been married to Jane (Cross) Howard for 43 years, and they have a grown son, Anthony.
