Mayela Trespalacios

Mayela Trespalacios

Mayela Trespalacios graduated in May from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and BA in Psychology.  She grew up in the city of eternal spring Cuernavaca, Mexico and moved to the U.S. for college. She will start full time employment at Epsilon in Texas. Her favorite sport is soccer, but after participating in FOX Sports U she became a hockey fan.

Andrea Moran-Sendra

Andrea Moran-Sendra

Andrea Moran-Sendra is from Mexico City and graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and a BA in French. She has an interest in exploring new cultures and learning new languages. Her hobbies include architecture and golf. She will begin working for Sendero Consulting in Dallas this summer.

Mary Kamel

Mary Kamel

Mary Kamel is from Plano, Texas. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and minors in Advertising and Art History. Mary currently works at a non-profit organization tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth in Dallas.

“[FOX Sports] University gave us the opportunity to apply everything we’ve learned in books to real life, and there has been no experience more valuable.”

“To be able to see something through from beginning to end was incredible, and to see it come to life is the best reward. This was, by far, the best class experience I had the opportunity to have in my college career.”

Cristina Oteiza

Cristina Oteiza

Cristina Oteiza graduated in May from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and a Minor in Psychology. Born and raised in Panama City, Republic of Panama, Cristina is the third generation in her family to attend SMU. After four years of college, she is returning to Panama to work there. She loves art and is a sports enthusiast, which made her even more excited to be able to participate in this project.

“This hands-on, practical project was definitely the best way to prove ourselves and show that we are ready for what lies ahead in our marketing career.”

Layne Meyers

Layne Meyers

Born and raised in Austin, TX, Layne Meyers spends her days playing with her puppy, Barney, and helping Dallas embrace its “weird” side. She is a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and a BA in Creative Advertising. Layne plans to continue developing her interest in marketing and starts at VOLA Sports, a new sportswear company, in July.

Spring 2012 Project Description

FOX Sports U kicked off its partnership with the Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in the spring of 2012. Students were challenged to develop marketing campaigns that promote the Dallas Stars’ hockey telecasts on FOX Sports Southwest. Students also worked on how to engage fans and enhance the enthusiasm for Stars hockey among Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana sports fans.

Judy Foxman

Judy Foxman

Judy Foxman is Senior Lecturer of Marketing at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in Dallas, where she teaches Fundamentals of Marketing, Sports Marketing, and the Honors Marketing Practicum in the BBA Program.  Additionally, Ms. Foxman has taught in the SMU Cox Executive Education Program and has served on the faculty of the SMU Cox Graduate Marketing Certificate Program. She is the recipient of the C. Jackson Grayson, Jr. Endowed Faculty Innovation Award and multiple teaching awards for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Ms. Foxman has also been selected twice for inclusion in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.

Ms. Foxman is a graduate of Ithaca College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Management.  She received her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing from SMU Cox.

Prior to joining the faculty at the Cox School, Ms. Foxman worked in consumer products brand management at Drawing Board Greeting Card Company and Anderson Clayton Foods, and was a principal in the marketing consulting firm of Daniels & Foxman, Inc.
