Spring 2017 Winners - Team Zephy

Allie Colbert

Allie Colbert

Dallas native Allie Colbert graduated in May from Southern Methodist University with majors in Marketing and Communication Studies. She is passionate about marketing, strategy, and international business. Allie has held several Dallas internships including at The Richards Group, as well as an internship in London. This summer she will intern in the marketing department of Southwest Airlines. In her free time she loves traveling, especially to see her family in Spain.

Participating in the FOX Sports U competition was the most rewarding opportunity of my senior year.

This project allowed me to apply everything I learned from my marketing classes and internships, leading me to feel even more confident that I can tackle whatever my  career throws my way.

FOX Sports U encouraged us to think big with this marketing campaign and our team had a blast meeting the challenge.

Sam Rudelich

Sam Rudelich

Sam is from Alpharetta, Georgia. He attended Alpharetta High school, where he was a captain on the varsity lacrosse team. Always hungry for more adventure, he decided to move halfway across the country to attend Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Through the Marketing program in the Cox School of Business, he has developed a business-focused mindset as well as realized his passion for market research. He has interned with Slim Studio Coolsculpting in Atlanta and Strop Insights in Dallas, where he received a full-time offer of employment post-graduation in 2017. His plans for the future include starting his own business a few years down the road and enjoying life as much as possible.

Working with Fox Sports University was a great hands-on experience in applying all of the concepts I have learned throughout my time at SMU.

It was very interesting learning about and being a part of the behind-the-scenes work that makes a sports franchise successful.

This was easily the most interactive and in-depth course that I took in my college career. I would highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in marketing, sports, or broadcasting.

Kelly O'Halloran

Kelly O'Halloran

Kelly O’Halloran grew up in Bellevue, Washington. Kelly is a Senior at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She will receive her BBA in Marketing from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business in December of 2017. She has a passion for marketing and has held summer internships at SLANT Partners, The Office of George W. Bush, and C Squared Advertising.  After graduation, Kelly is planning on pursuing a career in marketing focusing in digital and social media and brand management.

Participating in FOX Sports University was hands down the best decision I could have made for my future career.

Presenting our final campaign to the executives of both the Dallas Stars and FOX Sports Southwest and hearing their feedback was the most rewarding experience.

The real-world experience I gained through developing an entire holistic marketing campaign from scratch is priceless and will be a tremendous asset to my career.

Adriana Bremer

Adriana Bremer

Adriana Bremer is from Monterrey, Mexico. This May, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from SMU with a major in Marketing and a minor in Fashion Media. After graduation, she moved back to Monterrey to pursue a career in the marketing industry with hopes of later opening her own business. Her interests include fashion, traveling and cooking.

This was the most rewarding experience of my SMU career. Seeing our ideas develop and grow from scratch is just a reminder of how hard work does pay off.

This project allowed me to value the importance of teamwork. My team and I fed and learned from each other’s ideas and that made the project so great and special.

The project for FOX Sports Southwest and the Dallas Stars was challenging, however I am confident that it prepared me for the real world in multiple ways.

Marisol Moran

Marisol Moran

Marisol Moran was born in Mexico City and grew up in Houston, TX. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BBA in Marketing and a BA in Advertising, concentrating in Strategy Brand Management. Marisol is an avid learner who loves to travel and explore new cultures. She will begin her career in the Advertising industry at EnergyBBDO this summer.

FOX Sports University’s program helps students gain real-world experience prior to graduation.

I would highly recommend this program to any student who is considering working in the marketing or advertising industry.

It has been an incredible experience to get a chance to see our team’s ideas come to life.
