Carolyn Chow

Carolyn Chow was born and raised in San Jose, California. Although she is a Bay Area girl at heart, she has enjoyed the Southern California sun at San Diego State University! She recently graduated in May 2013 as Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration: Marketing with an emphasis of Integrated Marketing Communication. Carolyn has loved being a part of this unique IMC program, using her strategic and analysis strengths to integrate all forms of promotional tools to build a more cohesive campaign. With several internships in PR, digital marketing, direct marketing, sales and distribution, and marketing coordinating at an advertising agency, Carolyn is moving to Los Angeles to pursue her dream to work in Account Management at an integrated marketing communication’s agency in Santa Monica!

Jesus Cachu

Jesús is originally from Calistoga, a small town nestled at the north end of Napa Valley. He recently graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing: specialization in Integrated Marketing and Communications. In addition to being a traveling junky and an avid sports fan, Jesús is a member of the American Marketing Association. Although he is not sure exactly what he will be going into, Jesús plans to pursue a career in advertising or marketing development.

Kim Lewis

Kim Lewis

Kim Lewis was born and raised in Orange County, California.  She recently graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Marketing with an emphasis of Integrated Marketing Communication.  Choosing to be apart of the IMC program broadened her skills into an advertising world, connecting with marketing.  Kim is a born and bred athlete from playing baseball at a young age to playing water polo for San Diego State University, and the several jobs and internships, her heart is in sports.  Her ideal career path is in sports marketing and will do anything to get where she wants.

Andrew Won

Andrew Won

Andrew Won recently graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing. Following graduation, he will start his full-time career at Nielsen, one of the largest market research companies in the world. Andrew’s professional skills include web design, social media marketing, market research, and strategic marketing management. At SDSU, Andrew served as the captain of the Speech and Debate Team, where he received multiple first place speaker awards and consistently finished in the Top 8 at national tournaments across the country. Andrew also served as Vice President of Marketing for his business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi at SDSU. In his free time, Andrew loves hiking, football, going to the beach, and travelling.

Spring 2013 Project Description

Students in the Integrated Marketing Communications program at San Diego State University’s College of Business joined FOX Sports U in the Spring 2013 semester, kicking off the term with FOX Sports San Diego. This semester students focused on creating a comprehensive marketing campaign for FOX Sports San Diego’s partnership and telecasts of the San Diego Padres. These campaigns primarily focused on how to grow audience viewership. Students also addressed how to engage fans and enhance enthusiasm for Padres baseball among its viewership. The concepts were designed to begin in summer 2013.

Richard D. Brooks

Richard D. Brooks

Richard Brooks is the Director of the Centre for Integrated Marketing Communication and Co-director of the Entrepreneurial Management Center, working as a liaison to the southern California business community. At SDSU, he teaches Marketing Planning, Communication Planning, and New Product Development.

He brings a vast array of experience to the Centre for Integrated Marketing Communications having previously worked as Executive Vice President, General Manager of McCann-Erickson, San Diego with an overall management responsibility of the $55 million advertising and public relations agency. McCann-Erickson Worldwide is the largest global system of advertising agencies with 216 offices around the world. Global system manages marketing communications for such brands as L’Oreal, Nestle, General Motors, Exxon, and Coca-Cola. With McCann-Erickson, Brooks spent much of his career in the area of services marketing and consumer product brand building. Furthermore, he managed the Integrated Marketing Communications programs of: Bumble Bee Seafoods, Daiwa Sports Equipment, PSA Airline, The Zoological Society of San Diego, San Diego Trust and Savings Bank, and WD-40 Company.

Richard Brooks received both his bachelors and MBA-Marketing from San Diego State University. As a result, he truly understands the needs of the students, faculty and surrounding businesses.

Michael (Mickey) A. Belch

Michael (Mickey) A. Belch

Michael Belch teaches Integrated Marketing Communications at San Diego State University, where he has received numerous Outstanding Professor awards. He has also taught in France, Spain, China, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Slovenia, and the Netherlands. Dr. Belch has co-authored numerous articles in academic journals on advertising, consumer behavior, and international marketing. Additionally, he co-authored with his brother Dr. George Belch, the number one IMC textbook, Advertising and Promotion: An Integrated Marketing Communications Perspective.

Dr. Belch’s previous employment includes: Marketing Representative of General Foods Corporation, consultant to a number of Fortune 500 companies including McDonalds, Whirlpool Corporation, Senco Products, GTI Corporation, IVAC, and May Companies, as well as advertising agencies including Phillips-Ramsey and Dailey & Associates.

Professor Belch received his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
