Spring 2015 Winners - Team Jake & Ladies

Caitlin Riley

Caitlin Riley

Caitlin Riley graduated from The Ohio State University in the spring of 2015. She earned a degree in marketing along with two minors, dance and biology. Following graduation, she intends to apply to medical school in order to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor. She also has an interest in earning her MB to perhaps run the administrative side of a hospital later in life. Although being successful is of vital importance, Caitlin personally loves spending time with family and friends as well as being active. She was an athlete at OSU, and has always been fond of the passion behind sports.

Working with the Fox Sports U program was an excellent opportunity to challenge our minds, work together, and be creative. Nothing in a classroom quite prepares you for the real world, but Fox Sports U allowed us to gain a better grasp of what was to come. I felt more excited and ready to graduate! We were given the freedom to develop our own ideas, and the entire process from beginning to end was both stimulating and rewarding!

Anna Busi

Anna Busi

Anna Busi was a fourth year marketing major and fashion and retail studies minor at Ohio State University. She recently graduated and will be moving to Boston to begin her career as an allocations analyst at TJX Companies, which owns TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods. Anna has been interested in the retail industry since her freshman year and loves that she can be both creative and analytical in her future job. In her spare time, Anna loves to read, eat, and sew her own clothes, which she has been doing since she was 11 years old.

It was such an amazing experience working with Sportstime Ohio because they gave us a real issue that needed solved and encouraged us to think outside the box as a team. They treated us professionally and as if we were a real client!

This project is the one I’m most proud of because our team connected with an idea early and worked together to build a solid pitch and presentation. We were ecstatic to see that Sportstime Ohio and the Indians liked our idea!

From this experience, I gained invaluable experience in working together as a team to develop an idea and I know that this experience will help me in my future career.

Rachael Garson

Rachael Garson

Rachael Garson recently graduated from The Ohio State University with a marketing major and a pre-medicine minor. In the upcoming fall, she will attend graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner either at Case Western Reverse or Johns Hopkins. While she did enjoy marketing, she realized her true passion was in the medical field helping others. Born and raised in Cleveland, Rachael is a huge Cavs and Indians fan. She also enjoys playing sports as well. Fun fact, when she was 10 she won the Cleveland Indians skills competition and got to bat on the field. Rachael is very close with her family, especially her rescue dogs.

I really loved working with Fox Sports University. Our marketing project was not only exciting and fun, but also relevant to our everyday lives as college students.

The staff at Fox Sports was so personable and friendly, and made the overall experience very enjoyable.

In the past, students have had absurd marketing projects with clients that I’ve either never heard of or have very little interest in. I’m so grateful that Fox Sports University came to Ohio State and made the semester-long project such an enjoyable one that gave me valuable real life experience.

Anna Faul

Anna Faul

Anna Faul is originally from Parker, Colorado. She is graduating in May of 2015 from Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University with an emphasis on both Marketing and Logistics Management. After graduation she will be traveling abroad to Europe before coming back to start a career. She has previously interned with Homage, Inc where she gained experience in marketing, logistics, and promotions. She was the captain of the volleyball team at Ohio State and loves the Buckeyes!

I was so excited about this project that it felt unlike any other school assignment. I was able to contribute my love for digital media, sports, marketing, and overall creativity into our proposal.

This was the most real world and applicable project I have ever worked on, I truly learned so much. I hope that I can work on more campaigns such as this throughout my career.

My experience with The FOX Sports University team was incredible. They encouraged us to shoot for the moon with our proposal which ultimately lead to what I hope will be a very successful marketing campaign for both SportsTime Ohio and the Cleveland Indians.

Working with Fox Sports U really gave me the opportunity to go above and beyond what I would’ve had the chance to do in an entry-level Marketing position.

“It was a great, enriching experience that gave us the chance to think outside the box, and express our creativity.

This experiential opportunity with Fox Sports U was an amazing end to my college career. I got to close my academic career with a real-life Marketing project for a nationwide firm.
