Spring 2017 Project Description

FOX Sports Collegiate Properties’ Georgetown Properties team challenged Sports Industry Management students to create a fully integrated strategy that will help brands reach the Georgetown community in an impactful way.

Omari Faulkner

Omari Faulkner

Professor Faulkner is a former Georgetown University Men’s Basketball player and Big East Conference All-Academic team member. Today, he is a corporate strategist and business development director at ManTech International, a leading provider of mission critical technology solutions for the U.S. federal government and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. Mr. Faulkner has conducted sports and cultural diplomacy programs in over 45 countries and was a Cultural Envoy for the U.S. Department of State. In 2013 Omari Faulkner created, and developed Georgetown’s first Sport Culture and Diplomacy course.

He is a highly sought-after foreign affairs, sport culture, and diplomatic consultant, lending his ingeniousness to international development organizations and higher educational institutions. He works alongside these entities to develop and execute diplomacy programs that enhance their brands internationally, through targeted messaging, print and social media. He is the co-founder of O Street International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to being a catalyst for transforming international engagement ideas into high-impact solutions that energize cultural exchange. Professor Faulkner received the Georgetown University Excellence in Teaching Award for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Ryan Knapp

Ryan Knapp

Ryan Knapp is a 2011 graduate of the University of Michigan. He also graduated with a Master’s Degree from Georgetown University in 2012.

He currently serves as the VP of Client Marketing for MGC Sports. His focus is on maximizing each NFL and PGA Tour athlete’s endorsement and appearance fee income.

Prior to MGC Sports, Ryan worked for NFL Players Inc. on the overall planning and integration of NFL players leveraged within partners’ annual NFL player-integrated promotional campaigns. Ryan managed accounts for Procter and Gamble, FedEx, Pepsi, SAP, and Barclays.

Ryan has also worked for the Tiger Woods Foundation, specifically the AT&T National Golf Tournament where he managed the local marketing campaign for the tournament. Ryan also worked for Octagon after graduating from Michigan in 2011, and has interned for IMG Consulting, the Braylon Edwards Foundation, and the University of Michigan Athletic Department.
