Fall 2013 Project Description

FOX Sports Southwest and Baylor University teamed up for the first time to engage students in a real-life marketing and sponsorship project. The 2013 assignment focused on promoting Texas High School sports on FOX Sports Southwest. The students, led by Professor Kirk Wakefield, researched current fans of high school sports, attended high school games and behind the scenes tours throughout the semester to prepare their campaigns. Students then presented their findings, with suggested sales, sponsorship, on-air, social media, grassroots and online marketing campaign tactics, to the FOX Sports Southwest team. The winning project was incorporated into a multi-media campaign that launched in Fall/Winter 2013.
