Spring 2017 Project Description

FOX Sports University and FOX Sports Supports challenged Alabama ADPR students to develop a cause-marketing campaign for Positive Coaching Alliance, a FOX Sports Supports partner. Campaigns will encourage fans to learn more about the organization’s mission.

Kenon Brown

After completing his doctoral studies at The University of Alabama, Kenon A. Brown joined its Department of Advertising and Public Relations in August 2012 as a assistant professor. Prior to his academic appointment, Kenon worked for eight years in restaurant management and marketing, while also conducting independent media training for several smaller non-profit organizations and local businesses. His teaching specialties include strategic communication management, research methods and communication campaign planning. Keeping with his practitioner roots, Kenon also consults with several regional and national clients, specifically assisting with market research and strategic planning.

Randall Huffaker

Randall Huffaker

Randall Huffaker joined the Advertising and Public Relations faculty in August 2012 as an instructor. He teaches courses ranging from campaigns, AdTeam, management, sports marketing, social media & digital marketing, art direction, portfolio development. Huffaker has partnered with clients including NASCAR, Fox Sports and the Football Bowl Association, creating opportunities for students to develop real-world problem solving skills through experiential learning opportunities.

Huffaker has more than 20 years of experience in advertising and more than 15 in digital marketing. He recognized as emerging technologies took hold, social and digital media would change consumer behavior. As a result, in 2009 Huffaker opened his own agency, Alchemist, which focuses on brand development and digital marketing. He has worked with clients ranging from local to international with the goal of developing insightful engaging experiences. Huffaker has worked with clients from financial institutions, hospitals, nonprofit organizations and a host of others. He continues to serve as consultant for a number of midsized agencies around the region, developing effective digital strategies to meet marketing objectives.
